Abdominal Ultrasounds

Abdominal ultrasound is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the internal structures within the abdomen, including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and abdominal aorta. It is commonly used to evaluate conditions such as abdominal pain, liver disease, gallstones, and kidney stones.

During the procedure, a small handheld device called a transducer is placed on the skin of the abdomen to capture the images. Abdominal ultrasounds are considered safe and painless and do not involve the use of ionizing radiation.
